Safeguarding

Safety, dignity and “do no harm” come first.

Our commitment

PAIRS-ALLIANCE is committed to preventing exploitation, abuse, harassment and avoidable harm in its programmes, partnerships, workplaces and volunteer activities.

Expected conduct

Board members, personnel, consultants, volunteers and partners are expected to treat people with dignity, maintain appropriate boundaries, protect confidential information and never use their position for exploitation or personal advantage.

Children and at-risk people

Engagement involving children or adults at heightened risk should be carefully assessed, appropriately supervised and conducted only with proper consent and protection measures.

Reporting a concern

Concerns may be reported to safeguarding@pairs-alliance.org. Share only the minimum information needed in the initial email. Do not confront an alleged perpetrator or undertake your own investigation if that could increase risk.

Response principles

PAIRS-ALLIANCE should respond promptly, protect confidentiality as far as possible, avoid retaliation, centre the safety and wishes of affected people, preserve appropriate records and refer matters to competent authorities when required and safe.

Immediate danger

If someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency or protection service. PAIRS-ALLIANCE email is not an emergency response channel.
